Presented by Velo Promo, Golden Chain Cyclists & Monticello Cycling Club & Downtown Vacaville Business District The 5th Vacaville Gran Prix Part of the Ville Series 2008 Elite Men’s and Women’s Nor Cal/Nevada District Criterium Championships Held Under USCF Racing Rules and permit _____________________________________________________________ New Info: Some construction at base of climb, narrowing turn onto climb, however, the City Police are now closing Monte Vista to all traffic for the race, so the bottom of the hill will be the width of old, with no oncoming traffic on half of the road (whole road through turn and uphill). ______________________________________________________________ Date: Sunday July 6, 2008 Location: downtown Vacaville, CA, off Hwy 80 between Vallejo and Davis. Registration: Opens at 7 a.m. at Gold’s Gym, at Parker and Main in downtown Vacaville. Closes 15 minutes before each race's scheduled start. The starts are from Gold’s, and the finish line is on Main at the Town Square clock, at Elizabeth and Main. Directions: From Hwy 80, take the Alamo/Merchant exit and head north on Merchant to downtown. Turn left on Mason at the stoplight (edge of the course, and then right on Cernon up to Parker and Gold’s Gym. Follow signs to parking. Course: 1.1 mile loop of city streets. 8 turns, one hill (bigger than Santa Cruz size). Route: Main, Dobbins, Merchant, Parker, Main, Dobbins, Monte Vista, McClellan, Main. Mostly the same as 1997, 1998, 2006 & 2007. For those postmarked after, add $7. Note: indicate what category you are entering on check or form. Entries for several races in one envelope ok, but be sure to list race names on the outside. Envelopes without names of races on the outside may go to the wrong race. ---At Race: You may enter at the race, provided your event is not filled, for the above listed fee plus $7. 2008 USCF license required (available at race). One day licenses are available only for Cat 5 or Women 4 . Entry fees include $1 NCNCA and $2 USCF insurance surcharges. Numbers will be provided. Credits: Credit for another VP race will be given if VP is notified by 5 pm Wednesday 6/25 that you can't compete. No credit issued if you plan to enter another race instead; no cash refunds. No substitutions for cancellations. Send e-mail for credit to velopromo@sportsbaseonline.com Champion Discounts: Champions pay normal fees up front; Current NorCal/Nevada District Criterium Champions and National Criterium Champions will get a refund at the reg desk of all but $2 per day if 1) their entry is received by the deadline above (otherwise they pay full fee, including late fee) and 2) they ride in the category they won the championship in (Master Champions may ride down in age, and ride for $2, and Juniors may ride up. District jersey is not required. Rules : Lapped riders (if allowed to remain in race) may not sprint for primes.More Stuff: Showers will again be available in Andrews Park in the race loop; the park has an excellent playground and lots of trees; plenty of shopping in stores on the course; bring the whole family.
