MOUNTAIN BIKE RACE

Held Under USA Mtn Bike (formally NORBA) racing rules and permit

ANGELS CAMP, CALIFORNIA

Location: Angels Arm, Glory Hole Recreation Area, New Melones Reservoir, Angels Camp, CA, 1 hour east of Stockton off State Hwy 49. (Take Hwy 4 east from Stockton to Angels Camp, turn south on Hwy 49, and stay on 49 when 4 turns east towards the mountains in town. Go 3 miles further south on 49 and turn right at Glory Hole Center into the park. after 2 miles, watch for signs turning right to Angel's Arm.)

Registration: 8:30-10 a.m, Angels Arm parking lot.

Course: A 7-mile rolling loop starting & finishing at Angels Arm. The same course as was planned for Iron Angels this year, clockwise. Wide single track (old water ditch trails & cleared trails) & narrow new track, 1 short paved stretch which is uphill finish.

Prizes: All riders receive completion certificates if desired; All participants receive raffle ticket for cash (minimum $200) and merchandise prizes.

Entries: Send completed USA Mtn Bike (formally NORBA) standard entry form/release and the entry fee ($20 postmarked by 2/23; $25 after and at event) to: Glory Hole, 19780 Soulsbyville Road, Soulsbyville, CA 95372. Make checks to Velo Promo. Entrants are required to have an USA Mtn Bike (formally NORBA) license ($60 annual or $5 one-day – both available at the race). Note: include second piece of paper indicating category entering (or note it on check); not on release form

Refunds: Credit towards another Velo Promo event will be given if VP is informed by 5pm Thursday 3/1 that you won't be attending. Lodging: There are several motels in Angels Camp (Calaveras Visitors Bureau, (209) 736-0049 www.visitcalaveras.org) , & camping available (with hot showers) at New Melones Lake, Glory Hole Recreation area, overlooking the race site.
