Cyclocross 2009

Presented by Velo Promo, and Golden Chain Cyclists….Tuolumne and Calaveras Counties, CA

Held under USCF Insurance and USCF Racing Rules; NCNCA CX BAR points will be awarded.

Dates: December 26, and December 27, 2009

Times: Registration from 8 a.m. to 15 minutes before your race’s start. 9 a.m. start for "C"; 9:45 for B, 10:45 for A (be sure to check your category in the right event, below.)

Courses: dirt, mud, trails, open land, pavement; obstacles (artificial & natural) to force dismounts. Saturday’s race is more of a Jungle Cross; Sunday’s is  an open fast course.

Distances: "C" race is 30 minutes plus one lap; "B" race is 45 minutes plus one lap; "A" race is 60 minutes plus one lap (except Women A who will race 45 minutes).

Events:: NCNCA CX BAR categories will be recorded, but started in a different than usual order. The "C" race includes riders who are new to cyclocross, and will include C Men, C Women, Junior Boys and Junior girls. The "B" race includes B Men, 35+ B, 45+ B, B Women, 35+ Women and 55+. The "A" race will include A Men, Single Speed, 35+ A Men, 45+ A Men and A Women.

Entries: $15 per rider per day ($10 for Juniors). (Includes all surcharges). No late fees. . Enter at race only. Juniors (under 18) must have parent's signature on USAC/USCF entry form/release. USAC/USCF License required; one-day ($10) available at the races.

Prizes: Covers’ Fruit Pies, other cash and minor prizes.

December 26 Saturday: Cover’s Apple Ranch, Cherokee Road in Tuolumne, CA. Take Mono Way east from Hwy 108 east of Sonora, then turn right at signal onto Tuolumne Road, and turn left 4 miles later on Cherokee after going over Buckhorn Gap. Site of 1993 National Championships. Hilly course, mud & orchard. Bring your appetite: pies, pastries, sandwiches at Cover’s.

 

December 27, Sunday: Calaveras County Fairgrounds, Angels Camp, CA. Take Hwy 49 south from downtown Angels Camp 2 miles to turn left on Gun Club Road and follow signs to parking. (From Sonora, go north on Hwy 49, across the reservoir to turn right on Gun Club just after Glory Hole Road entrance to New Melones reservoir). Open course, mud, pavement, grassy slopes, obstacles, stairs. Course 1.5 miles long.
